Kodo millet is a monsoon or “kharif” crop, with sowing occurring in early June. It has a relatively short growth period, ranging from 120-180 days. Kodo millet is developed in warm and dry climate. It is an indigenous cereal of India and is grown today in Uttar Pradesh in the north and Kerala and Tamilnadu in the south.
Kodo Millet Vermicelli contains Kodo Millet flour, wheat and salt alone. First, the ingredients- Kodo Millet flour, wheat, oil, and salt are combined. There is no Maida added. Then these ingredients are kneaded together to make a dough and then the dough is rolled out. After this, the rolled dough is cut into thin strips. The Vermicelli are then steamed and packaged after the dehydration process. Dehydration plays an important role in increasing the shelf life of instant Vermicelli.
